Waukee Storage - Rental Instructions

RENT DUE DATE:
  • Rent is always due on the 1st of each month
  • We do pro-rate rent upon move in, but we do NOT pro-rate upon move out
  • A late fee of $10 will be charged if payment is not paid on the due date
  • A 2nd late fee of $10 will be charged if not paid 10 days after due date

HOW TO PAY RENT:
  • Pay using ACH, Debit Card, or CC by logging into your Online Account at: www.WaukeeStorage.com
  • Drop off a check through the dropbox next to the office
  • Call (515) 224-4313 during office hours and provide payment information over the phone

HOW TO LOG INTO YOUR ACCOUNT ON OUR WEBSITE:
  • Use your online account to view your lease, manually pay rent or set up Auto-Pay, and view payment history
  • Go to: www.WaukeeStorage.com. Click on “PAY ONLINE” located at the top right of our website. Then enter your username/password

INSURANCE/TENANT PROTECTION PLAN:
  • All tenants acknowledge and agree that they are required to insure all their own personal property stored at Waukee Storage. You are required to either provide proof of your own insurance or you shall be automatically enrolled in the Waukee Storage Protection Plan. Please ask about options for Waukee Storage Tenant Protection Plans

USING THE SUPPLIED COMBINATION LOCK FOR YOUR UNIT:
  • We have provided a combination lock for you to use as the daily lock for your unit. Only you and Waukee Storage have the combination to this lock. If you decide to use a different lock as your daily lock, be sure to keep our lock inside your unit, because upon move-out you must drop the combo lock through the mail slot next to our office door in order to finalize your move-out.  After you move-out we will change the combination on the lock and prepare it for the next tenant

YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO USE ONE LOCK TO SECURE YOUR UNIT:
  • Your unit's latch may have space for 2 locks, but you are allowed to use only ONE of those spaces for your daily lock. We use the other space for overlocks in the event of a late payment. If we need to overlock your unit and there are two locks installed on the latch, per the lease we will be forced to cut off one of your locks at your expense

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR UNIT GETS LOCKED OUT DUE TO LATE PAYMENT:
  • If your unit is overlocked due to late payment, you will find an additional red combination lock on the latch of your unit. To regain access to the unit, you will need to pay the full balance outstanding. The payment can be made on our website 24/7 or over the phone during office hours. See contact info below. Within 48 hours of receiving the outstanding payment, we will text or email you the unlock code for the red combination lock. You can use the code to remove the lock and then you need to drop the red lock through the dropbox next to our office door.  There will be an additional charge of $25 if we do not receive the red overlock back from you

MOVING OUT:
  • Tenant must give at least a 15-day notice prior to move out. We do NOT pro-rate rent upon move out. If you start a month, you pay for the whole month
  • In order to avoid being charged for the full next month, the following conditions must be met: 
  • A) You must give your move-out notice at least 15 days prior to the last day of the month
  • B) Empty, clean and sweep out your unit
  • C) No later than 5pm the last day of the month, take a picture of the clean, empty unit with the unit # showing and send picture via email or text.·
  • D) Return combination lock to dropbox next to our office door. This is how we know you are moved out
  • E) Rent continues if all the above are not completed
